The new DEORE XT features a two-piston brake for cross-country use or a four-piston brake for trail/enduro use. The new brake lever design, which is mounted at an angle to provide two points of support on the handlebar, significantly increasing stiffness, provides more direct feedback and braking performance that is further improved by SERVO WAVE technology. The braking systems are therefore characterized by quicker response, higher performance and a shorter free travel.
